Dubai officials is doing it's utmost over the last two decades to lure tourists and tourist dollars to the city. By far the most popular attraction is the Dubai shopping.
There are many fantastic hotels. But they also come with outlandish prices. Rather than staying in one of those seriously over-priced Dubai hotels, consider a Dubai villa instead.
But other features that attract tourists include the old cultural districts, the fantastic new buildings and developments, international sporting events, and hotels and villas located on the sparkling beaches of the Persian Gulf.
Dubai's most famous shopping is to be found in the souks, located on either side of Dubai creek running through the center of the city. The Gold Souk and the Spice Souk are two of the most popular. An important part of the Dubai shopping experience is bargaining in the middle easter style.
In recent years the usual style of shopping in the souks has met with stiff competition from more western style shopping as gigantic shopping malls and boutiques have sprung up throughout the city. Dubai's modern shopping malls sell essentially any consumer good you can imagine: clothing, cars, furnishings, jewellery, electronics, sporting equipment - you name it and you can probably find it in the shopping areas and malls of Dubai. And often all of these consumer items are under the same roof.
